Indian Roadie Preferred Route/ Motoring Route/ Driving Route / Road Route for  Bangalore to Pondicherry  (Bangalore_Pondicherry/  Pondicherry_Bangalore):  Option 1:  Bangalore (Vidhansabha Soudha) - Electronics City - Bommasandra - Attibele - Hosur - Krishnagiri - Ambur - Vellore bypass - Arani - Gingee - Tindivanam - Puducherry.   Good road all throughout as in December 2021.  Option 1 Distances:  Bangalore (Vidhan Soudha) to Hosur = 40 kms/ 1 hr.  Hosur to Krishnagiri = 50 kms/ 45 mins.  Krishnagiri to Ambur = 67 kms/ 1 hr.  Ambur to Vellore bypass = 50 kms/ 45 mins.  Vellore bypass to Tindivanam = 115 kms/ 2 hrs 30 mins.  Tindivanam to Pondicherry Beach = 42  kms/ 45 mins.  Option 2:  Bangalore (Vidhansabha Soudha) - Electronics City - Bommasandra - Attibele - Hosur - Burgur - Thirupattur - Singarapet - TV malai - Villupuram - Pondicherry Good road all throughout (as in December 2021) and slightly le...

After a gap of nearly 18 months the famed toy train of North Bengal resumed its maiden run from New Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling on 2021-08-25. The operation was suspended ever since the outbreak of Covid-19 in February - March 2020.

An integral part of highway driving till early 2000 were the 'dhabas' churning out lip smacking freshly prepared food of your choice.  However, with all the access controlled 4/ 6 lane highways nearing completion and with strict regulations put in place by NHAI, the dhabas of yesteryears have got a yuppy makeover or Cafe Coffee Days or McDonald's have sprung up.  Between Mughalsarai (Ramnagar) on NH2 where one turns left to follow NH7 and right upto Jabalpur in MP (also on NH7), a stretch which spans 470 kms, NHAI has not yet started strengthening and widening of this critical road. To be honest, I have never driven through such a bad highway ever in my life.  On 12th June 2013, around 2.15pm on Day-2 of the trip (after halting at Hotel Celebration, Rewa during the previous night), chanced upon this dhaba with an old world charm on the left of NH7 at Jukehi Pathra (adjacent to an IBP Auto Service filling station), 125 kms from Rewa on NH7. Road trip from  Bangalore to Jaipur  (Bangalore_Jaipur) via places of interest by Digvijay Singh in December 2021.  Completed in 3 days straight.  Route taken:   Bangalore - Chitradurga - Bijapur - Solapur - Aurangabad - Indore - Ujjain - Chittorgargh - Kishangarh - Jaipur.  Day-1 Bangalore to Chitradurga. Normal traffic and divider roads good condition. Chitradurga to Bijapur awesome 4lane roads with very less trafic. Bijapur to Solapur outer  is very good 4lane Some 20 kms road which goes through Solapur is not good single road till Solapur bridge. From Ule - Osmanabad - Beed - Aurangabad awesome 4lane roads. Stayed in Aurangabad.  Day-2 From Aurangabad to Kannad ghat road is single lane but in very good condition. After Kannad ghat and across Chalisgaon  some 60 kms is single road with lots of speed breakers and bad roads. From Dhule to Indore with truck traffic good 4lane roads.
