Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway is set to become operational by March 2025. Spanning 63 kilometres, this eight-lane expressway, upgraded from its original six-lane design, aims to revolutionise connectivity between the two cities. The expressway will start from Lucknow's Shaheed Path and connect to Kanpur's Nawabganj, passing through areas such as Rawal Marg, Amarsas, and Banthra. It features six flyovers, 38 underpasses, 28 minor bridges, and three large bridges. Over 75% of the elevated road and the greenfield route are already complete. Currently, the Kanpur-Lucknow journey takes approximately three hours. Upon completion, the expressway will reduce travel time to just 30-45 minutes, making commutes faster and more convenient. Returned home from a meeting around 3.30 pm on 2024-12-19. I decided to shine up my 2011 make VW Vento all by myself.  The satisfaction of DIY is hard to express in words.  A shining car with black side walls of the tyres and of course clean mudguard core look fabulous. A Hyundai Creta with Delhi registration plates (DL9CAT9501) and with 4 people on board overtook a Toyota Fortuner at high speed and skidded onto an oncoming truck. It lost control after it landed on black ice under a thick layer of snow. The Creta had no snow chain or special tyres fitted on it.  One person reportedly was killed on the spot.  It was a case of ignorance, over confidence and recklessness. The driver and co-passengers were obviously of the feeling that accidents happen to others only and that they were automobile enthusiasts, although in reality they were the typical 'enchutiasts' seen in plentiful on roads throughout India.  Mountains are beautiful, and dangerous, too. GSRTC (Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation) has launched a daily direct Volvo bus service from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA), Ahmedabad to Dhordo (White Rann of Kutch) via Bhuj. Passengers can now travel in comfort and style in the AC Volvo bus right in time for the unmissable Rann Utsav.  The bus will depart from SVPIA, Ahmedabad for Dhordo daily at 6 am.  There will be a return bus which will leave Dhordo for SVPIA daily at 12 noon.  * Indian Roadie Bus Route

Hyderabad - Hampi - Hyderabad road trip by Indian Roadie Tanmoy Das in October 2024 by Mahindra Scorpio N Automatic.  October 2nd, 2024 - Route: Hyderabad → Raichur → Manvi → Hampi. Travel Details: Started at 7:00 AM and reached Hampi by 4:00 PM.Took accommodation at Clarks Inn, which offers ample covered car parking. Road Condition: The route was unsatisfactory, with poor road quality throughout. October 3rd - Exploration: Visited major monuments in Hampi, including the iconic Virupaksha Temple and Vittala Temple.Hired an auto-rickshaw for the day, making travel within Hampi convenient. Timings: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM October 4th - Exploration: Explored most of the sites in North Hampi, including the Anjaneya Temple, believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman.Used the same hired auto-rickshaw as the previous day.
