It's sheer stupidity to drive/ ride on visibly dangerous water crossings in Spiti and Ladakh region

It's sheer stupidity and not adventure by bikers on a ride to Spiti valley enroute to Batal in July 2021. Mishap And Calamity waiting to happen. Water crossings become dangerous with every passing hour during the day because of melting ice in the higher altitudes.  https://t.co/d4TifIKa67

Bell for Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is ready

The bell for Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is ready. It's a single cast piece, easily the largest, 6’ X 5’, weighing 2,100 kgs, made of "Ashtadhatu", a combination of eight metals -- gold, silver, copper, zinc, lead, tin, iron and mercury. The bell will be transported to Sri Rama Temple in Ayodhya from Ramakrishna Nadar Vessels Shop in Eral, near Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. Listen to its mangala naada. It will drive the evils away. This bell sound can be heard up to 15 Kms away. Chant Jai Shree Ram to vanquish all evil on earth 🙏 (Edited by Deep Banerjee) . . . * HowIndiaTravels

I (Deep Banerjee, Founder - Indian Roadie, Backpacking India On Road) am based out of Kolkata. I have always maintained that I am most uncomfortable driving around in West Bengal. If a person like me who has grown up and worked in WB and has travelled widely across India mainly for work and partially for vacation, spanning over nearly four decades expresses such fears, there must be a lot of substance in such apprehensions.  For roadies from Odisha and the five Southern states who prefer to drive via Kolkata during their trips to Darjeeling hills, Dooars, Sikkim, Bhutan and the seven North Eastern states, a need might arise to halt in Kolkata or any place in South Bengal. Please try to stay in a hotel within Kolkata (south of Kaikhali), Salt Lake or between Asansol and Durgapur or in Tarapith, Shantiniketan, Bankura, Bishnupur, Midnapore or Kharagpur.  I myself drive to the districts of Nadia and North 24 Parganas quite often. While driving from/ to Kolkata, I normally take th...
