Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary, Kannur district, KL - India’s first butterfly sanctuary


Home to more than 260 species of butterflies, Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary – a 55-square-kilometre forest, just twice the area of Central Delhi – in Kannur district in Kerala will be India’s first ever butterfly sanctuary.

On June 18, 2025, the Kerala State Wildlife Board decided to rename Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary as Aralam Butterfly Sanctuary. While there are many wildlife sanctuaries and national parks that host a huge diversity of butterfly species, what stands out about Aralam is the sheer numbers of some butterfly species that pass through the sanctuary as part of their seasonal or annual migration routes.

Massive pile-up on Pune-Mumbai Expressway on 2025-07-26

A container truck supposedly had a brake failure on the Mumbai bound flank of Pune-Mumbai Expressway, just after the Khopoli Exit which resulted in a 22 vehicle pile up at around 3 pm on Saturday 2025-07-26. A 58 year old lady lost her life and several people were injured. The police and ambulance swung into action shortly after the mishap.  It's our earnest request to media and police not to make this an open & shut case by citing brake failure as the cause for the incident!  The media is reporting that the brakes of the container truck driven by a 29 years old driver from UP had failed. What makes them so sure that the truck driver was not another kaddu biriyani cook cum vlogger whose aspiration was to build a house worth ₹2 crores by posting nonsensical videos on social media 😡  It's an earnest appeal to authorities (including MORTH)  by Indian Roadie and Maharashtra Roadie to Ban_CV_Driver_Vloggers throughout India.
